First and foremost, the RoA MUDBase is a Multi-User Dimension (MUD). If you find yourself unfamiliar with what a MUD is, I suggest you skip this page and take a trip to the CircleMUD home page or to the MUDConnector and learn all about MUDs in general (by all means, come back when you are ready, grasshopper...). The RoA MUDBase originated from CircleMUD2.2, which was developed by Jeremy Elson. CircleMUD2.2 is a descendant of DikuMUD, created by a host of brilliant people (check out the DikuMUD page!). Full props and credits are extended to everybody involved from the original DikuMUD team all the way up through Jeremy... you people did a great job (and continue to, in some cases). Now, back to what exactly this MUDBase is. It is everything you need to run your own MUD, including source code. Before I start listing what features it has, I think I should briefly explain the history behind the MUDBase... |
